Godolphin Announce Australian Assistant Trainer

Thursday, 23rd August 2018

Godolphin has announced that Kate Grimwade has been appointed assistant trainer at its Carbine Lodge stables at Flemington in Melbourne, reports Godolphin.com. Grimwade, who previously occupied the role of Godolphin's European pre-training manager at Newmarket in the UK, brings a rare combination of international experience, proven ability as a horsewoman and exposure within the Australian racing industry. Significantly, Grimwade has first-hand knowledge of Australian racing having worked as Racing Manager for Gai Waterhouse. During her time with Waterhouse, Grimwade worked with top-class horses such as eight-time Gr1 winner More Joyous, Manhattan Rain, sprinting star and subsequent stallion Northern Meteor, and Golden Slipper winner Sebring. Head trainer James Cummings commented: "Kate is joining a great group in Melbourne. She brings with her an understanding of Australian racing which is invaluable. To have someone of her experience and skill at our stable in Melbourne is enormous for our team."
