Final Gr1 Blue Diamond Field & Barriers
The final field has been declared and the barrier draw conducted for Victoria's richest juvenile race, the $1.5 million Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield this Saturday. A capacity field of 16 starters and four emergencies have accepted for the race. This year shapes as one of the most open Blue Diamond fields in recent memory as TAB's fixed odds market clearly demonstrates. The current favourite for the race is the Coolmore Stud-owned colt Long Leaf at a generous $7, followed by the Tony McEvoy trainee Oohood and Godolphin's Plague Stone on $8, Spirit Of Boom's eye-catching debut winner Kinky Boom and Prairie Fire at $9, and Written By at $10. Long Leaf displaced Kinky Boom as favourite after drawing perfectly in barrier 7, while the latter drifted slightly after drawing wide in gate 14. View the Blue Diamond Stakes field below.
