Tosen Primed for Orr

Wednesday, 7th February 2018

Humidor's high-flying stable-mate Tosen Stardom could go through the autumn undefeated, according to trainer Darren Weir's foreman Jarrod McLean. The Japanese-bred Tosen Stardom (Deep Impact-Admire Kirameki, by End Sweep) was one of the stars of the spring after he posted brilliant victories in the Gr1 Emirates Stakes (2000m) and Gr1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) in Melbourne. The Australian Bloodstock-owned entire is scheduled to launch his autumn campaign in the Gr1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday. "We're really excited with him heading towards Saturday. He's wound up and he's forward and he's ready to go," McLean told racing.com. "I made the statement a couple of weeks ago when he galloped at Ballarat that he might go undefeated this preparation and I'm not back-pedalling from that." He added: "If he wins on Saturday, he'll certainly be a deserved favourite going towards an Australian Cup." The $1.5 million Gr1 Australian Cup (2000m) will be run at Flemington on 10 March.
