Thursday, 5th January 2017

Last Sunday at Ocala Stud in the US, the first foal by major US G1 winner Carpe Diem was born, reports blood horse.com. The foal is a colt out of Songandaprayer mare Evelyn's Dancer who won seven times at stakes level. The colt was bred by Centaur Farm. By former Coolmore shuttle stallion Giant's Causeway, Carpe Diem is out of multiple Gr1 producer Rebridled Dreams (Unbridled Song) and fetched US$1.6 million when he topped the March Ocala Breeders Sale (OBS). On the racetrack he was a G1 winner as both a 2YO (Keeneland Breeders' Futurity Stakes) and a 3YO (Toyota Bluegrass Stakes). Carpe Diem has been supported at stud by many of Kentucky's leading breeders.
