Redoute's Choice Adds South Africa Gr3

Monday, 27th June 2016

At Kenilworth racecourse in South Africa, Arrowfield Stud's multiple Champion Australian Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a Group success when 2YO Australian-bred colt Table Bay (Redoute's Choice-Gabriella, by Cape Cross) scored by a head for trainer Joey Ramsden in the R200,000 Gr3 Langerman Handicap (1500m) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO Australian-bred colts Our Mate Art (Artie Schiller-Laureldean Dream, by Stravinsky) & Newlands (High Chaparral-Delphi Lodge, by Fusaichi Pegasus). This was the first stakes victory for Table Bay who improved his record to 3 wins from 4 starts. Carrying the familiar black, green and yellow starred silks of owners Markus & Ingrid Jooste, Table Bay was a $120,000 purchase by Mayfair Speculators at the 2015 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Henley Park (NZ). Table Bay's dam is the unraced Cape Cross mare Gabriella, a half-sister to the inaugural Global Sprint Challenge winner Cape Of Good Hope (Inchinor), winner of the Gr1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Ascot and the Gr1 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley. Table Bay becomes the 134th stakes-winner for his sire Redoute's Choice.
