Star Offerings At JRHA July Select Sale
Japan Racing Horse Association (JRHA) has announced 248 yearlings and 243 foals will be offered at the annual JRHA Select Sale on Monday 11th July and Tuesday 12th July at Northern Horse Park near New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. Past graduates of the JRHA Select Sale include Just A Way, the first Japanese horse to top the international ranking's when crowned the 2014 World's Best racehorse; Japan Cup winner Epiphaneia; ill-fated Caulfield Cup winner Admire Rakti; and Real Impact, winner of the Gr1 George Ryder Stakes and who now stands at Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley. This year's sale will feature colts and fillies by top sires Deep Impact, Dansili, Heart's Cry, King Kamehameha, Daiwa Major, Manhattan Cafe, Screen Hero, Empire Maker, Harbinger, and Kurofune. In addition, the first crop by Orfevre, Lord Kanaloa, and Novellist are featured in the yearling session, while the first crop by Just a Way, the world highest rated horse in 2014, will be offered at the foal session. Some of the interesting lots from an Australian perspective are:
Hip 19: a yearling colt by Deep Impact out of Gr1 Australian Guineas & Australian Derby winner Shamrocker;
Hip 115: a yearling colt by Lord Kanaloa out of Gr1 Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed;
Hip 437: a foal colt by Orfevre out of Gr1 Australian Guineas & Australian Derby winner Shamrocker;
Hip 446: a foal colt by Lord Kanaloa out of Gr1 New Zealand Oaks winner More Than Sacred.
