Minding May Bypass Curragh Classic
Aidan O'Brien says that brilliant English 1,000 Guineas winner Minding is far from a definite starter in Sunday's Gr1 Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh, reports Racing Post. Crowned champion 2YO filly of Europe last year, Minding showed she had returned bigger and better than ever when scoring a dazzling win over the famous Rowley Mile at Newmarket earlier this month. The victory saw the beautifully bred daughter of Galileo and dual Gr1 winning filly Lillie Langtry firm into as short as 4-7 for next month's Epsom Oaks, and now it seems she may wait until the fillies' classic on 3 June. "It's not by any means certain that Minding will run [in the Irish 1,000 Guineas]," O'Brien said. "She's well and we'll decide in a day or two but we might decide to wait for the Oaks". Minding has hitherto won 4 of her 6 starts, including three Gr1 victories in the 1,000 Guineas, Moyglare Stud Stakes, and Fillies' Mile.
