Interstellar Back In Style

Wednesday, 18th May 2016

Well-related mare Interstellar has made a satisfying return to racing, reports NZ Racing Desk. The Shamoline Warrior half-sister to Gr1 New Zealand Oaks winner Savaria (Savabeel) was a winner at Wanganui last time out when resuming from a seven-month break following surgery to remove a bone chip from her knee. "She had to do it tough after a long time off and was three deep with no cover too, it was a really good effort," co-trainer Jamie Richards said. Interstellar has two wins and a placing from her four appearances and is considered by the stable to be a bright black-type prospect for the future. Both Interstellar and Savaria are out of the O'Reilly mare Amathea, and hail from the female family of Gr1 Maori Stakes winner Culminate, New Zealand Oaks winner Solveig, Lion Brown Sprint (now Gr1 Waikato Sprint) winner Soliloquy, and Gr3-winning sire Greig.
