Ugo Foscolo Wins Listed Equine Stakes

Monday, 9th May 2016

At Te Rapa in New Zealand, Inglewood Stud's beautifully bred Gr2-winning & Gr1-placed stallion Zacinto (Dansili-Itacha, by Distant View) added a black-type success when 2YO gelding Ugo Foscolo (Zacinto-Bequests, by Stravinsky) scored by a short neck for trainer Stephen Marsh in the NZ$50,000 Listed Equine Stakes (1100m) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO geldings Memories Only (Patapan-Du Valle, by Kreisler) & Barcelo (Alamosa-Light Majesty, by Zabeel). This was the first stakes victory for the undefeated Ugo Foscolo who advanced his record to 2 wins from 2 starts for 35,625 earnings. Ugo Foscolo, who races in the same distinctive lime green silks as star mare Lucia Valentina on behalf of owner Lib Petagna, was a NZ$50,000 purchase by Bruce Perry Bloodstock at the 2015 NZB Select Yearling Sale from the draft of Inglewood Stud.
