Late Charge To Stand At Riverbank Farm
Riverbank Farm has announced that stakes winning stallion Late Charge (Hard Spun-Fantagonal, by Octagonal) will commence stud duties at the Victorian stud this spring. Described by Riverbank's Russell Osborne as "a lovely athletic type with the attributes of his sire," Late Charge has reportedly settled in well. "He has a fantastic temperament, he is super to handle and extremely well mannered," Osborne enthused. By Gr1-winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up Hard Spun out of the Octagonal mare Fantagonal, Late Charge is a great grandson of Gr1 South Australian Derby winner English Wonder, dam of ill-fated four-time Gr1 winning sire Dr Grace (Sir Tristram), as well as South Australian Oaks winner Asia (Danehill). Other members of this family include stakes winners Whitefriars, Ringmeister, Calveen, Kosi Bay, Fireworks, Striker, First Impressions, Okahu Bay and One For One. Late Charge debuts at a fee of $2200.
