Aust-Breds Loom Large In Turffontein Feature

Friday, 26th February 2016

At Turffontein in Johannesburg, South Africa, a quartet of Australian-breds lines up in a 16-horse field tackling the Gr2 Gauteng Guineas (1600m). Of the four, Bracuza – fittingly a graduate of the 2014 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale from the Kia Ora Stud draft – will be strongly fancied after finishing runner-up to It's My Turn in the Gr1 Cape Derby at Kenilworth. He is by Teofilo from the Choisir mare Base Paradise. Magic Albert colt Suyoof (ex Magic Harmony, by Danehill Dancer) comes into calculations following his last start win in the Gr3 Tony Ruffel Stakes (1450m) at Turffontein, backing up from his maiden stakes-win in the Listed Secretariat Stakes (1400m) at the same venue.
