Stolen Dance Ready For Kawi Rematch
Te Rapa horseman David Greene is hoping the racing scales can swing in Stolen Dance's (Alamosa-Songbird, by Black Minnaloushe) favour on her home track this Saturday, reports NZ Racing Desk. Greene said the 4YO mare would be at the top of her game for the Gr1 Herbie Dyke Stakes (2000m) as she bids for a maiden top flight success. "She worked strongly last Saturday and also galloped very well on Tuesday so everything is as well as I could hope for. She's ready to go," Greene said. In her last two appearances Stolen Dance has been narrowly beaten in the Gr1 Zabeel Classic and the Gr1 Thorndon Mile, both times hitting the line powerfully behind top-class galloper Kawi. "I think it would be just deserts if she had her turn, but I'm obviously biased and you have to earn it," Greene said. "Sometimes things go for you and sometimes things go against you. We've been second to a very good horse twice and we're looking to turn that around." He added: "I certainly couldn't be any happier with my mare and it would be fantastic if she could get a Group One at Te Rapa."
