Hoof On The Till For Kiwi Galloper
While the Gr3 Eskimo Prince Stakes & Inglis Classic occupy pole position for tomorrow's meeting at Randwick in Sydney, feature race enthusiasts will be eagerly awaiting the Australian debut of undefeated rising trans-Tasman star Hasselhoof. The winner of his only six starts to date, the Donna Logan-trained son of Cambridge Stud stallion Lord Tavistock has not been missed by odds makers and is currently a $2.25 favourite for the Gardenia Handicap (1600m). Also the trainer of Volkstok'n'barrell, Logan's last start winner of the Gr2 Rich Hill Mile will get a good guide as to whether Hasselhoof is up to taking on his Australian rivals in top-tier company over the coming months. Already three from three over the distance, and drawn in gate 3, Hasselhoof seems likely to justify the lofty expectations that he has already been saddled with by New Zealand's racing public.
