Zelady's Night Out Wins By Daylight At Doomben

Monday, 16th November 2015

Meanwhile, Vinery sire Myboycharlie (Ire) was back in the spotlight with Magic Millions graduate Zelady's Night Out scoring an impressive debut victory at Doomben on Saturday. Zelady's Night Out hit the ground running and skimmed over the Soft 7 surface to score by four lengths in the Game Flexi Membership QTIS Hcp (1050m). She clocked a surprisingly quick 61.12s which was only a fraction outside the class record in wet conditions. "She can really fly the gates," trainer Tony Gollan said.  "She jumped lengths in front and then came back under Jim (Byrne)." The filly is the first juvenile winner of the season for Myboycharlie who sired Jameka to a Group 1 triumph in the VRC Oaks (2500m) last week.  He is standing for an $11,000 (inc gst) service fee at Vinery Stud. Zelady's Night Out (2f Myboycharlie – Zelady by Zeditave) will keep improving towards the $2 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 9. Her two lead-ups will be in the LR Calaway Gal Stakes (1000m) at Doomben on December 12 followed by the G3 Bruce McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at the Gold Coast on December 26. "She really appeals for the Classic," Gollan added.  "She has shown us plenty from the start and isn't a one-dimensional filly.  She was very impressive today but you haven't seen anything yet." Zelady's Night Out is a half-sister to Excites Zelady (G3 SAJC Breeders' Stakes) and cost $65,000 from Yarraman Park at the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale.  Their dam foaled 7 winners from 7 to the races. The newcomer was purchased by B2B Bloodstock on behalf of owner Sylvana Surace who also qualifies to earn part of a $500,000 Racing Women's bonus in the Classic.
