Monday, 2nd November 2015

At Keeneland in the US, former Coolmore shuttler and triple Gr1-winning champion European sire Galileo (Sadler's Wells-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) celebrated an elite Gr1 success when 3YO Irish-bred filly Found (Galileo-Red Evie, by Intikhab) scored by 0.5-length for trainer Aidan O'Brien and jockey Ryan Moore in the US$3 million Gr1 Breeders' Cup Turf (12 furlongs) for 3YO+, over champion 3YO UK-bred colt Golden Horn (Cape Cross-Fleche d'Or, by Dubai Destination) & 7YO US-bred entire Big Blue Kitten (Kitten's Joy-Spent Gold, by Unaccounted For). The Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and Susan Magnier owned Found took her record to 4 wins (including the Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac) and 6 placings (including the Gr1 Champion Stakes, Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes, Gr1 Coronation Stakes & Gr1 Irish 1,000 Guineas) from 11 starts for over £2 million earnings. "I'm absolutely delighted," winning trainer Aidan O'Brien told Blood Horse. "She's a very special mare. To run in two Champion Stakes and the Arc, and then to come here and win, is quite remarkable. She's very special."
