Catkins Wins Gr2 Sheraco Stakes

At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, triple Gr1-winning Darley shuttler Dubawi (Dubai Millennium-Zomaradah, by Deploy) added a Group success when 6YO mare Catkins (Dubawi-Salix Caprea, by Catbird) scored by 1.3-lengths for trainer Chris Waller in the $125,000 Gr2 Sheraco Stakes (1200m) for 3YO+ f&m, over 4YO mare Echo Gal (Stratum-Pink Siris, by Encosta de Lago) & 5YO mare Bounding (Lonhro-Believe'n'succeed, by Exceed and Excel). Catkins took her record to 16 wins (including the Gr2 Millie Fox Stakes, Gr2 Thoroughbred Breeders Classic - twice, Gr2 Emancipation Stakes - twice, Gr3 Sheraco Stakes, Gr3 Wiggle Stakes, Gr3 Eliza Park International Stakes, Gr3 Sportingbet Sprint Stakes, Listed PJ Bell Stakes & Listed Fireball Handicap) & 13 placings (including the Gr1 Canterbury Stakes, Gr1 Coolmore Classic, Gr1 Myer Classic, Gr2 Blazer Stakes, Gr2 Let's Elope Stakes & Listed James HB Carr Stakes) from 35 starts for $2,000,030 earnings. Catkins, who was purchased for $85,000 by Ingham Racing at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Amarina Farm, will have her next run in the Gr3 Golden Pendant (1400m) at Rosehill on 26 September before heading to Melbourne for the remainder of her campaign.
