Amber Sky Wins UAE Gr1 Al Quoz Sprint

At Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, Darley's incumbent Champion Australian Sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) celebrated a Gr1 success when 4YO gelding Amber Sky (Exceed and Excel-Truly Wicked, by Rubiton) scored by a neck for trainer Ricky Yiu Poon-fai in the US$1 million Gr1 Al Quoz Sprint (1000m) for 3YO+, over 6YO entire Ahtoug (Byron-Cherokee Rose, by Dancing Brave) & 6YO South African gelding Shea Shea (National Emblem-Yankee Clipper, by Jallad). Amber Sky took his record to 7 wins (including the Gr1 Kent & Curwen Centenary Sprint Cup) & 3 placings (including the Gr3 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy) from 14 starts. Amber Sky was purchased by Yiu for $80,000 at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Rubiton Bloodstock.
