Rizeena Ready For 1,000 Guineas
Connections of QIPCO 1,000 Guineas hope Rizeena (Iffraaj-Serena's Storm, by Statue of Liberty) believe she will be even stronger this season, reports 1.skysports.com. The Clive Brittain-trained Rizeena had a busy juvenile season running eight times, but it showed no signs of catching up with her. After finishing fifth on debut, she missed finishing in the first two on only one occasion, when an unlucky third against the colts in the Gr1 Prix Morny at Deauville. She then landed the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes defeating Tapestry before finishing second to subsequent Breeders' Cup winner Chriselliam in the Gr1 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket. "She's done her first bit of work," said Bruce Raymond, racing manager for owner Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum. "The one thing you can guarantee is that she'll be fit enough. She's done exceptionally well over the winter. She's always been a big filly and she's heavier now, but it's all muscle. She's just a big filly all round." He added, "She won't be underdone come the Guineas. She's just a very good filly and she has to be thereabouts."
