Designs On Rome Wins Gr1 Hong Kong Derby

At Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong, dual Gr1-winning shuttler Holy Roman Emperor (Danehill-L'On Vite, by Secretariat) celebrated a Gr1 success when 4YO Irish-bred gelding Designs On Rome (Holy Roman Emperor-Summer Trysting, by Alleged) scored by 0.5-length for trainer John Moore and Australian jockey Tommy Berry in the HK$16 million Gr1 Hong Kong Derby (2000m) for 4YOs, over fellow 4YO geldings Able Friend (Shamardal-Ponte Piccolo, by Volksraad) & Dibayani (Shamardal-Dibiya, by Caerleon). Designs On Rome took his record to 5 wins (including the Gr1 Hong Kong Classic Cup) & 5 placings (including the Gr1 Hong Kong Classic Mile) from 12 starts for €1,710,684 earnings.
