Savvy Nature To Appreciate Guineas Trip

Friday, 14th March 2014

John O'Shea says that smart 3YO Savvy Nature will appreciate stepping up to a mile in Saturday's Gr1 Randwick Guineas at Royal Randwick. The Savabeel gelding, who opened his autumn campaign over an unsuitable 1400m in the Gr2 Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill last-start, showed he was looking for further when charging home for third behind Dissident. "I'm looking forward to getting him to a mile and getting him back to Randwick," O'Shea told Sky Racing. "But it will be a tough race. I can't remember a Guineas this strong." O'Shea said that Savvy Nature had made good progress since his last start and that provided he comes through the Guineas in good shape, would be aimed at the Gr1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) on 29 March. As O'Shea pointed out, this year's Guineas renewal has attracted a top-class field with the likes of Dissident, El Roca, Atlante, Eurozone, Bull Point, Woodbine, Koroibete, and the highly rated New Zealander Show The World, all lining up in the race.
