MM Adelaide Day-2: Gross Up 15%
After two days of the annual Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale, more than $6.6 million has been traded on 207 lots at an average price of over $32,100 and a clearance rate exceeding 81 per cent. Book One of the sale concluded yesterday with the sale gross increasing more than 15 per cent on last year's figures. "Like all sales there was healthy competition on the quality individuals of which there were many," Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox said. "We were pleased that we were able to clear a greater percentage than last year." The day's top seller was a colt by Snitzel from the good producing Carnegie mare Trois Couleurs. A half-brother to the multiple stakes winner Excuse My French, the colt was knocked down to Mark and Shelley Treweek's Lyndhurst Farm for $140,000 from the draft of Cornerstone Stud as agent for Arrowfield Stud.
