At Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, Gr1 Golden Slipper-winning Widden Stud stallion Sebring (More Than Ready-Purespeed, by Flying Spur) added a black-type success when 3YO filly Interspersed (Sebring-Scattered, by Tale of the Cat) scored by 0.2-length for trainer Sam Kavanagh in the $120,000 Listed Canberra Guineas (1400m) for 3YOs, over fellow 3YO filly Lorna May (Redoute's Choice-Glasnost, by Red Ransom) & 3YO colt Liberty's Choice (Redoute's Choice-Liberty Rose, by Royal Academy). This was the first stakes victory for Interspersed who took her record to 2 wins and 1 placing from 4 starts for $99,050 earnings. Kavanagh purchased Interspersed for $145,000 at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Highgrove Stud.
