Savabeel Heads NZB Select Sale Aggregate
Yesterday's top-priced Savabeel colt on Day-2 of the NZB Select Sale (see above) also contributed to a continued strong showing from Waikato Stud sire Savabeel, who has had 58 yearlings sold this week. With a top price of NZ$500,000 paid at the Premier Sale for Lot 258, the Cox Plate-winning son of Zabeel sits in the top spot by aggregate for the Select sessions. He is in fifth position on the sires table by average at this session, with 18 yearlings selling at an average of NZ$61,667 for a total of NZ$1,110,000, the only sire to break NZ$1 million at the Select Sale. His barn mate at Waikato Stud, O'Reilly, is the leading sire of the Select Sale with six Lots sold for an average of NZ$84,167.
