Melbourne Cup Fancy's Campaign Back On Track

Monday, 17th June 2013

Strongly fancied for this year's Gr1 Melbourne Cup since last year's closing stages of Melbourne's Spring Carnival, Puissance de Lune's campaign appears well on track, reports racingnetwork.com.au. The French-bred stayer had just one start for trainer Darren Weir in the Autumn, sharing the spoils in the Gr2 Blamey Stakes at Flemington during March. Sent for a spell, Puissance de Lune has been back in light work for a month and will be kept ticking over until he starts full work in July at Weir's Warrnambool stables, where his regime will include lots of sand dune and water work at the beach.
