Shamexpress Settles In Well At Newmarket

Thursday, 13th June 2013

NZ-bred Gr1 Newmarket-winning 3YO colt Shamexpress (O'Reilly-Volkrose, by Volksraad) has settled in well at Abington Place in Newmarket, England, ahead of the Gr1 King's Stand Stakes on Tuesday, reports nzracing.co.nz. Before flying out to England, he won two jumpouts, in the most recent of which he beat subsequent Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) winner Linton. Jockey Craig Newitt observed, "The form out of the trial has stood up really well and I thought he trialled equally as impressively as he did before he won the Newmarket. As for how the horse has been working, I don't think he's ever been going any better. Obviously it is exciting to know that he's travelled and settled in really well because that was my only concern with him."
