Lord Kanaloa Wins Japan Gr1 Yasuda Kinen

In Tokyo, 5YO entire Lord Kanaloa (King Kamehameha–Lady Blossom, by Storm Cat) scored by a neck for trainer Takayuki Yasuda in the ¥195,580,000 Gr1 Yasuda Kinen (1600m) for 3YOs+, over fellow 5YO entires Shonan Mighty (Manhattan Cafe-Luxury, by Storm Cat) & Danon Shark (Deep Impact-Carla Power, by Caerleon). Lord Kanaloa, Japan's Champion Sprinter/Miler in 2012 who has been targeted as a possible visitor for the Melbourne Spring Carnival, took his record to 11 wins (including March's Gr1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen, the 2012 Gr1 Hong Kong Sprint, 2012 Gr1 Sprinters Stakes, Gr3 Hankyu Hai, Gr3 Silk Road Stakes & Gr3 Keihan Hai) & 5 placings (including 2nd in both the Gr2 Hanshin Centaur Stakes & Gr3 Hakodate Sprint, & 3rd in the Gr1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen) from 16 starts.
