Monday, 16th July 2012

Former Arrowfield Stud shuttler & 8-time Gr1-winning sire Falbrav (Fairy King-Gift Of The Night, by Slewpy) added a black-type success (& 15th individual stakes-winner world-wide) when 5YO mare Irish Dream (Falbrav-Queen Emma, by Irish River) scored by a long-head in the $100,000 Listed Winter Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm in Sydney. Irish Dream (ridden by Glyn Schofield for trainer Ron Quinton) defeated favoured 5YO gelding See The World (Danzero-Global Dance, by Spinning World) & 4YO gelding Startsmeup (Danzero-Bluevien, by Bluebird). Irish Dream (a $57,500 yearling consigned by Velvet Stud at the 2008 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney & subsequently a $150,00 4YO at the 2011 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale) took her record to 6 wins & 8 placings (including 2010's Listed Just Now Handicap over 1300m at Eagle Farm) from 29 starts for $231,475 earnings.
