2nd Winner For US Freshman Sire Simon Pure

US multiple graded stakes-placed winning 8YO freshman stallion Simon Pure (Silver Deputy-Life's Magic, by Cox's Ridge) recorded his 2nd 1st-crop winner when 2YO filly Pure Whim’s Gem (Simon Pure-Whim's Gem, by Diamond) scored on debut over 4.5 furlongs at Prairie Meadows for trainer Randy Allen. Pure Whim’s Gem was a US$1,700 yearling at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton Maryland October Sale. Her sire Simon Pure (standing at Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds in Florida in 2011 at US$2,500) recorded 3 wins & 7 placings (3 stakes, including 2007's Gr2 Alfred Vanderbilt Handicap over 6 furlongs at Saratoga & Listed Michael Schaefer Mile over 8 furlongs at Hoosier Park, plus 2006's Gr3 Northern Dancer Stakes over 8 furlongs at Churchill Downs) from 15 starts for US$274,382 earnings.
