$1.8m Makybe Diva Sister Debuts At Eagle Farm Today

Wednesday, 2nd December 2009

Dual Australian Horse-Of-The-Year & triple Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva’s 3YO sister Bakarje Diva (Redoute's Choice-Tugela, by Riverman) makes her racetrack debut over 1400m at Eagle Farm in Brisbane today for trainer John Morrisey. Morrisey's long-time client Gundaroo Stud Syndicate paid $1.8 million for the filly at the 2008 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney & Morrisey told The Courier-Mail: “She is a lovely filly, but I don't know what to expect. On her work she is very one-paced & I think & hope she is a staying filly. But she's got to start somewhere & we've got to find out where we are with her. I'm not expecting a lot & I hope it's a learning curve & not a disappointment. The price doesn't matter - it's whether they can gallop.”
