Doncaster Yearlings Day-2: $305k Elusive Quality Colt

In the UK, Richard O'Gorman Bloodstock out-bid trainer Bryan Smart & paid top price of £145,000 (A$305,000) for a colt by Darley shuttler Elusive Quality (out of Gr3-winning Green Desert mare Sahara Star) during the the 2nd session of the 3-day Doncaster Bloodstock St Leger Sale in Yorkshire. The colt (consigned from Brendan Holland's Grove Stud in Ireland) was previously pin-hooked for US$55,000 at the Keeneland November Sale last year & is a half-brother to Gr3-winner Land Of Dreams. O'Gorman told racingpost.co.uk: "He's going to John Gosden, who trained a top-class horse by the sire, but I can't say who he has been bought for. He was the type of horse that looks like he should make a 2YO."
