Doncaster Yearlings Day-1: $378k Acclamation Colt

Thursday, 28th August 2008

Richard O'Gorman Bloodstock out-bid fellow agent Bobby O'Ryan & paid £180,000 (A$378,000) for a colt by Acclamation (out of Alzao mare It Takes Two) consigned from Newtown Stud. The colt (a half-brother to Gr3-winner Final Exam) was previously sold for €68,000 (A$116,000) at last year's Goffs November sale. O'Gorman told racingpost.co.uk: "He's going to John Gosden, but I can't say who he's been bought for. The mare's produced a stakes-winner by College Chapel, so I'd hope he could do well. He looked a lovely horse. They're generally a very solid collection of horses at the sale & you'd hope there would be the usual number of decent future winners among them."
