NY Yearlings: US$250k Exchange Rate Colt
In the US auction ring, bloodstock agent Buzz Chace (representing West Point Thoroughbreds president Terry Finley & West Point client Michael Newton) paid top price of US$250,000 for an Exchange Rate colt (out of Caller ID mare Star One One) during the 2-day Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred preferred yearling sale at the Humphrey Finney sales pavilion. The colt (a half-brother to stakes-winner North Beach Condo) was bred by Andy & Susan Beadnell & consigned by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds as agent. Chace told thoroughbredtimes.com: "He's just a good athlete, a nice horse. Exchange Rate is a pretty hot sire & the horse looks the part. He had a good attitude, good bone. He has a chance to do something."
