2 Breeze-Ups & On-Line Bidding At Inglis Melb Sale

Thursday, 7th August 2008

In Australia, this year's Inglis 2YO & 3YO Breeze Up Sale (Sunday October 26) during the Melbourne Spring Carnival will feature a new format: vendors will be able to stable their horses for a week at the Inglis Oaklands complex in Melbourne & work their horses on the track prior to breezing their horses; in addition, they will be able to breeze their horses twice (if desired) in the lead up to the sale, with the fastest of the breeze-up sessions posted as the recorded time. Inglis managing director Mark Webster commented: "Having a track at our complex allows a 2nd opportunity to breeze if needed, as well as 2 additional days of training. Months of hard work all come down to a 1 furlong (200m) breeze, so it is important for all concerned to be given the chance to show their potential." Entries close for this year's Breeze-Up Sale on Friday September 5. For potential buyers not in Melbourne, Webster noted the "on-line bidding service, along with internet video streaming of trials & an online X-ray repository, will give buyers every opportunity they need to assess each horse in the catalogue".
