Tungsten Strike Unlikely For Melb Cup

Friday, 1st August 2008

Meanwhile Goodwood Cup runner-up Tungsten Strike's trainer Amanda Perrett told racingpost.co.uk: "It was great that Yeats was here, but a tragedy for Tungsten Strike because that was the race of his life. We tried to pinch more of a lead today, but Johnny (Murtagh, rider of Yeats) did not let us get away with that. We'll probably come back here for the March Stakes, but I wouldn't have thought we'd be going back to Australia (for the Melbourne Cup)." Tungsten Strike ran last in the 2007 Melbourne Cup.
