Magic Millions Weanlings Day-2: $360k Exceed And Excel Colt
In the auction ring, leading Singapore trainer Michael Clements (bidding with stable client Janven See on behalf of New Zealand-based Noble Bloodstock) paid top price of $360,000 for a colt by boom Darley 1st-crop sire Exceed And Excel (the 6th foal out of 13-year-old Canadian-bred & dual Canadian-winning Bold Revenue mare Miss Behave) during yesterday's 2nd session of the 4-day Weanling Section (followed by the 5-day Broodmare Section & 3-day Yearling Section) at the Magic Millions National Sale on the Gold Coast. The colt was consigned by Bellerive Stud as agent & Clements commented: "He's one of the nicest horses in the sale. We are delighted to be able to buy him." Clements said he was undecided whether the colt would see another sale ring prior to his racetrack debut, adding: "We'll just wait & work on the options, but we would be more than happy to race him. He looks a real racehorse."
