Wednesday, 28th May 2008

New Zealand's top jockey Michael Walker remains in a critical but stable condition in Auckland Hospital with head injuries suffered in a fall while pig hunting a week ago. Walker, 24, has "shown slight signs of improvement in the last couple of days," reported racingpost.co.uk. He "coughed when a tube was being removed from his throat" & "that, along with slight movement from his eyelids & an arm, have the doctors, his family & friends hopeful that he will soon recover from his induced coma".
