In Kentucky, US 8YO freshman sire Great Notion (Elusive Quality-Evening Primrose, by Dayjur) recorded his 1st winner when 2YO filly Cherubini (Great Notion-Big Out There, by Silver Deputy) scored by 1.25-lengths on debut over 5 furlongs at Churchill Downs for trainer Darrin Miller, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Great Notion (from the immediate family of Gr1-winning sire Talinum) stands for US$3,500 at Northview Stallion Station in Maryland & has 38 2YOs in his 1st crop. On the track, Great Notion won 3 of 12 starts (including the 2003 Southwest Stakes, plus runner-up in both the Gr1 King's Bishop Stakes & Gr2 Amsterdam Stakes).
