Henrythenavigator Wins UK Gr1 2000 Guineas

In the UK, Coolmore's US-bred & Ballydoyle-trained colt Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo-Sequoyah, by Sadler's Wells) came from the back of the field in his seasonal debut to snatch victory by a nose in the £375,000 (A$788,000) Gr1 2000 Guineas (8 furlongs) for 3YOs at Newmarket. Henrythenavigator (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated the Irish-bred pair, Europe's champion 2YO of 2007 New Approach (Galileo-Park Express, by Ahonoora) & 100-1 outsider Stubbs Art (Hawk Wing-Rich Dancer, by Halling). Last season Henrythenavigator won the UK Gr2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot & then finished runner-up in Ireland's Gr1 Phoenix Stakes (6 furlongs) at The Curragh & 3rd in Ireland's Gr2 Futurity Stakes (7 furlongs) at The Curragh. Overall he now has 3 wins & 2 placings from 5 starts.
