End Sweep Adds Japan Gr2

Tuesday, 10th October 2006

In Japan, ill-fated former Arrowfield Stud shuttler End Sweep (Forty Niner-Broom Dance, by Dance Spell) added a group success when last year's Champion Japanese Older Female Sweep Tosho (End Sweep-Tabatha Tosho, by Dancing Brave) scored a 0.75-lengths victory in the ¥124440000 (A$1.4m) Gr2 Kyoto Daishoten (2400m) at Kyoto. Sweep Tosho (ridden by K.Ikezoe for trainer A.Tsurudome) defeated Fast Tateyama (Dance In The Dark-Main Guest, by Targowice) & Tosho Knight (Timber Country-Midnight Oasis, by Java Gold). Sweep Tosho previously won Japan's 2004 Gr1 Shuka Sho, 2005 Gr1 Takarazuka Kinen (the 1st female ever to win that race) & 2005 Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup (plus runner-up in the 2005 Gr1 Yasuda Kinen).
