One Nice Cat To New Florida Stud

Wednesday, 12th October 2005

A partnership of Allen Iwinski, Larry Paltrowitz & Adam Wachtel "plan to enter the Florida bloodstock market & launch a farm at the old Silver Leaf location in Ocala by standing 2005 Polynesian Stakes winner One Nice Cat (a 5YO son of Storm Cat, out of champion Key To The Mint mare Jewel Princess) in 2006," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. One Nice Cat (who raced as a 2YO in Ireland & went to the US for his 3YO campaign) finished 5th in the Gr2 Kentucky Cup Classic Stakes at his last start on September 17; overall he has 4 wins in 28 starts for US$163,089 earnings. Meanwhile this week at the OBSC Florida sale, Iwinski "was busy purchasing possible mares for One Nice Cat": during the opening session he paid US$90,000 for August Moon Dancer (a 6YO Green Dancer mare in foal to Johannesburg) & confirmed: "This mare & the mares we pursue will match well with our new sire."
