In England, this month's Gr1 July Cup-winning 4YO stallion Pastoral Pursuits (Bahamian Bounty-Star, by Most Welcome) "has been retired from racing due to injury & will stand alongside his sire Bahamian Bounty at the National Stud next season," reported thoroughbredinternet.com. "Plans for syndication are currently being developed." Pastoral Pursuits (bred in Britain by Red House Stud) was a 24,000 guineas (A$62,000) purchase at the 2002 Tattersalls October yearling sale; overall he recorded 6 wins (also including both the Gr2 Park Stakes when he broke the juvenile track record at Kempton, & Gr3 Sirenia Stakes when he broke the track record at Doncaster as a 3YO) in 10 starts & earned £264,496 (A$630,000).
