Kentucky Day-2: US$300,000 Forestry Colt

Wednesday, 20th July 2005

B. Wayne Hughes paid US$300,000 for another colt by Forestry (out of Artic Tern mare Arctic Valley) reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The colt (consigned by Jim Robinson's Brandywine Farm) is a half-brother to both 1999 Gr2 Kentucky Cup Classic Handicap winner Da Devil plus 4YO Unbridled's Song entire Consistent (who topped the 2002 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July sale at US$700,000). Hughes's racing manager Seth Semkin commented: "He's a beautiful colt. He's got a lot of leg, which I like. He's a great moving horse & there's enough pedigree there for Mr Hughes. We were pleased to get him for US$300,000. We've come to this sale more & more & bought more horses here because it produces racehorses."
