Shamardal Debuts at Darley Australia

Monday, 11th July 2005

Darley Australia has announced that crack 3YO Shamardal (Giant's Causeway-Helsinki (GB), by Machiavellian) will make his stud debut at their Hunter Valley operation in 2005. This follows the recent announcement by Coolmore that Giant's Causeway will not be making the trip south in 2005, being replaced instead by another of his boom sons, Footstepsinthesand. Shamardal was the Champion 2YO of England in 2004, and this season his successes included victories in the Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French Two Thousand Guineas), Gr1 Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby), and Gr1 St. James's Palace Stakes. Remaining undefeated in all 6 starts on turf, and a close relation to Darley's Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry, Shamardal will stand for $55,000 including GST.
