Seamus McGrath Dies In Ireland

In Ireland, "legendary trainer Seamus McGrath has died at the age of 83," reported racingpost.co.uk. McGrath trained Levmoss "to land an unprecedented treble of the Gr1 Ascot Gold Cup, Gr1 Prix du Cadran & Gr1Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in 1969" & was 4-times Ireland's champion trainer. Among many high-points he also won: "Ireland's premier prize", the Gr1 Irish Derby, with Panaslipper in 1955 & Weaver's Hall in 1973; & 4 other Irish Classics with Silken Glider (1957 Oaks), Royal Danseuse (1964 1000 Guineas), Furry Glen (1974 2000 Guineas) & Allangrange (1970 St Leger).
